Went in to order, but got a surprise.....

A week ago Saturday (July 21) my wife and I went in to test drive a MCS and place our order, but luck got in the way. We walked into the dealer and right there on the showroom floor they had one optioned out almost exactly like the one we were going to order. This one had the Oak Trim and the BlueTooth Phone options added to it. We hadn't planned on getting those, but once we saw the Oak we loved it. It looked much better in person than in pictures I had seen of it. I quickly paired my cellphone to the BT in the car and cranked through all the options and found out it was actually very useful and it worked perfectly with my phone (which I never dreamed would happen).

We named him Dale, after Dale Cooper in Twin Peaks.

I could go on and on about how much I like the car, but I'd be preaching to the choir. You all know we love it.

Here's Dale.

Congrats.

It's a shame you had to miss all that agony of waiting and watching as your MINI slowly comes across the pond.

Congrats on your MINI! Looks great. Are those coco floor mats? I just ordered a set that looks just like that.

Actually Dale had every option we wanted plus two extras. We hadn't planned on getting the Oak Trim or BT Phone options. We just used "this is almost 1000 more than we planned on spending, we should just order one" as a bargaining tool to get more out of our trade-in.
After seeing the Oak Trim and using the BT, I'm glad we got them.

Congratulations.

Dale looks great, good find and those extra options really are nice. Any plans for mods or you driving as you bought it?

Full specs, was anything left off. A few of these MY teasers have been at the dealers, I imagine they do not last long.

Enjoy and drive safe.

On the miniusa.com website they list those floormats as "Black Rubber Floormat". The dealer let us swap out the standard carpet mats for those. In the winter here in Ohio, rubber floormats are almost mandatory, so I have always used rubber mats year round.

I'm going to keep it stock for awhile. Outmotoring.com is based about 40 minutes from my house, so I imagine I'll end up doing a little bit of "making it truely mine" before it is all said and done. In fact, I was in there on Friday to introduce myself to Aaron. I walked away with a box full of goodies

Very good reason to drive your MINI for a few more miles and smiles.

Congrats on a very nice MINI & managing to eliminate the 6 week wait. Hope to see you out motoring around. You are pretty close to me.

Welcome to NAM.
