Navigation POI for MITM rides

Has anyone entered the rides in a POI format for the navigation?

Just wondering before I created one on my own.

Yes, points of interest. Like the Lat/Long of Mount Evans, things to pay attention to on the drives, etc....

I just didn't want to re-invent the wheel, looking forward to the drive maps.

Cheers.

Now if you go and put too much information out there

you might just be giving away, uh, quiz answers. You never know what we have up our sleeves for you, but, uh......

Have fun. Do remember that all registrants (Drivers) get a ride book with full-up details anyway. Oh, and we have maps. For us old fashioned folks.

Yes, and I googled POI

and you would not believe the garbage that showed up. Most of it unintelligible.

Now if there was a way that those of us with a Nuvi could have the map of the various drives in a central location where we could download them to an SD card that would be grand.

I have no idea if this is even possible.

is the question. If you have registered for MITM, you will be receiving our official 2-part Event Guide. In it, you will find a section that has ALL the ride info including maps, times, distances, logistics, etc. Then, you will receive a section that has all the other logistics including event schedule (with more details than ever mentioned elsewhere), checkin logistics, vendor information, and so on. This is about a 30 page doc with what we believe to be everything you will need for yourselves, your nanny, your kids, grandma, or your spouse - in the event you dare to leave him or her behind.

That kind of was the point, since the question was "Do we need to make our own logistics (POI) for the ride?"

We aim to please.

Colorado POIs

Take a look at www.poi-factory.com and search for "Colorado" POIs. You need to register (free) to download them. Some POIs of note:
Tourist POI by State For Colorado -- tourist info (?)
Colorado 14'ers -- 14,000+ ft elevation peaks
Offbeat Tourist Attractions for Colorado -- "... fun, oddball and strange..."
Colorado Mountain Passes -- waypoints contain every named mountain pass, or gap in Colorado (paved roads only).
And more.

I'll be loading these (into Garmin nuvi 660) to see what they're all about. I plan to make a MITM POI if I have time.

Any idea when we'll be getting these? (last year they were GREAT, thanks). I'm heading up Saturday & won't have computer access after that.

Right after we close registration

Since we then will have our complete Driver / Passenger attendance list.

The plan is August 1 at Midnight to close registrations.

Credit goes to

MINI5280 President Rick Gonzales who, in his own very detailed way, spent countless hours on this document. Then, Sherril Gross of NAM did her magic with the editing and publishing. She too btw is responsible for your beautiful MITM Event Badges this year. You will love them.

Thanks for the compliment.
