"But we were on a break!" or, Separation anxiety about being away from my MINI

So, Monday I head out on a business trip. I'll be back in November -- close to four solid months.

Any recommendations on dealing with my seperation anxiety?

Bandwidth permitting, I suspect I'll be reading NAM a lot more, and probably compensating by buying all kinds of lavish gifts for my car, for our glorious reunion.

Loveletters would be inappropriate, right?

I assume your business trip is on a different continent. Otherwise, why not take the MINI with you?

It's complicated. It's a few countries away, and, well, I can't. Were it smaller, I might try and throw it in one of my bags or something!

I hope the destination is not what I think it is... and if it is, take care of yourself, mmmkay ?!
And if it isn't... still take care !

I have Seperation anxietywhen:
I park it in a bad part of town.
When I'm at the movie theater really late.
While at work.
Not parked at the very end of the parkinglot (doordingophobia)
So pretty much everywhere, except when it's in the garage. :impatient

Arise dead thread, ARISE!

...

I'm leaving for a personal trip to NYC for 10 days starting tomorrow, and I just went through this same issue...

I definitely think all mail home will be addressed to "Siva Cooper"...

I'm gonna miss him so much...

I just got back from my 4 months away on Feb 13th. It was hard, especially being in Germany for the majority of it. I saw lots of MINIs, they even had an inveiling of some sorts at the hotel I was staying at. I did a lot of thinking about what I was going to do to the car when I returned. I had plenty of pictures of her. That helped me out a lot. Good luck.

Yeah, she seems to have moved on without me. New license plates arrived and were mounted. I heard she's out driving with other people -- ok, with my wife.

This is great I thought I was the only one. I am at my wife's parents house for two nights and my wife said in a cheerful tone "I'll drive!" and my heart sank. It has been three days with my poor MINI sitting under its cover in the rain... Later I will be home and out motoring for something I am sure we will need at the store. Just don't know what it is yet.

Abuzavi,

From one VET to another...Thank you!

Back to your MINI dilemma:

I think you will be buying another MINI because that one is going to be your wife's car.

When I was getting ready to order it, I offered to buy it for her. When it arrived, I handed her the keys -- here, take it.

Not sure why she hasn't taken me up on it. Every now and again she takes it for a spin. As awesome a car as it is, I figured she would have hijacked it by now.

Nope.

Great wife. Great car, too.

Am thinking about bringing home a new exhaust system, maybe a CAI for her too. The car, of course. The wife gets me.
