emissions test/air team anything to look out for?

My 'old' 03 MCS needs to get is emissions tested. im thinking about
taking him over to the ElkGrove AirTeam in the next few days (maybe
even tomorrow).

Anything to watch out for? Do they actually run the car over
the rollers?

A. Im going to turn off DSC.
B. Pop the OBDII cover open for them...
C. Watch in terror... (?)

thanks.

I had my 2002 MC done last year, and they just plugged the connector in to search for codes, checked the fuel cap for leaks..

I don't think they even shoved anything up the tailpipe this time..

Ah, not true. I've received the "letter" and usually head over to Naperville.

Consider yourself lucky!

Sorry Paul, we are in part of Kendall that does not require it. I mean, with the 11 car fleet that would be LOTS of tests.

lucky indeed...

this is from the IL EPA site ---

Q. What vehicles are subject to vehicle emissions inspection?
A. All 1968 to 1995 vehicles not in compliance with the Vehicle Emissions Inspection Law of 2005 on February 1, 2007 and all 1996 and newer vehicles except diesel, electric-powered, and certain vehicles specified by law as Exempt.

Also, there's a listing of exempt zipcodes. you must be in one of those codes:

(Kendall County) All except 60447, 60512, 60536, 60537, 60541,those parts of 60543 that are not within the census defined urbanized area, 60545 and 60560.

Cook, DuPage and Lake counties are are all required. Lucky indeed
