yes - this looks to be the correct AFE intake for your 05 MC. i have the same one and purchased it from here - http://www.flowsource.net/Mini.html

it's a straight replacement. you shouldn't have any "minor" changes or problems. the instructions included with the kit are straight forward and basic.

AFE is good - i've really liked mine.

Check out Our Cooper intake. It has shown good HP gains and an even better sound. Here is a pic.

You can see the heat sheild and High flow foam air filter. Plus the airflow has an almost straight shot into the throttle body.

mozzamini,

I have the aFe intake and am very pleased with it. Please keep in mind that if your '05 has the newer Getrag manual transmission, you'll need the updated aFe heatshield. It basically has the lower corner of the heatshield cut off in order to clear the reverse switch on the transmission.

Here is the link to that thread:

Regarding aFe and Flowsource (who I bought the intake from), their service and support is second to none. After a few of us discovered this fitment issue, both companies jumped to help us reach a quick resolution. I highly recommend them.

Good luck,

Al
