Motor Damper, have you installed one?

Hello Chicago Land Gang,

I'm ordering one of the http://www.motoringtech.com/EngineDamper_v5.pdf

dampers for my 05 Cooper and wanted to see if anyone out there in area has one.

If you do please IM me or post below and tips you may have, hope to install it Sat before Sun AutoX.

Thanks D

Get a very long or telescopic magnet... and be patient, for the non-mechanically inclined like me...it was a PITA but it does make a difference. Best of luck.

use some masking tape to temporarily position your nuts and washers.

not a "she"... but let's keep this clean guys, thank you

I do remember (at MOTD) LOTF say it's easier if you use tape.. to hold the nut/washer in place on the blindside.. unless you can squeeze a mirror back there to see what you're doing... try both ways (tape and magnet)!

I did not know that I saw him do that to CG while at MOTD, but didn't know it's origin. I learned a new factoid today

I installed mine and it was about ten minutes including dropping the nut into the engine compartment. Make sure you have the short wrench that it calls for as it is the only thing that fits.

NO Joke! I cant get this thing on my MINI. An 05 Cooper. I just can't get the bolt into the motor started, think my fingers are too fat.

I'll pay anyone that can get that bolt started $20 cash to come here Sat Morning and help me.

I just spent the last 30 mins out there with that bolt and I cant even get it started without the damper in place. Now I know why we pay MINI dealers 100 an hour. So much for do it myself.

Please someone come help me in North Lake County IL. IM me for details.

I still have $20 for anyone that can put this damper on my MINI.

If $20 not enough IM me your number.
