Holy cow! They're kidding, right?

My MINI has the anthracite interior and all the rings except the tach ring is anthracite, which was left silver for some reason. While my MINI was getting it's oil changed this weekend, I walked over to the parts desk and asked about an antracite tach ring. The guy told me $85 and some change, and asked if I wanted to order one. After I picked my jaw off of the counter, I shook my head no and mumbled something non-repeatable.

$85! For a plastic ring? I was prepared to pay a maximum of $40.

Anyway, I've searched for hours, using a plethora of terms and came up empty. Does anyone know of a place that sells this part for less?

No. In fact, I'm surprised you could even order one. As far as I knew, they were completely unavailable.

If your car is still under warranty I would complain that this "oversight" has occured. You should be able to get one through your SA for freeeeeee.
