MITM: OctaneGuy Scavenger Hunt Game

This game isn't necessarily for the rich or even professional detailers. Anyone can play, and the more you can think out of the box, the more successful you will be! Feel free to discuss your finds here to keep the thread active and/or make others envious of your resourcefulness!

The Detailer's Scavenger Hunt or DSH is a game where you find an item to match within a defined category. All of the items should fit inside of a paper grocery bag or smaller. Remember think MINI whenever possible, but most of all think practical and universally available. I'm not interested in items that are one of a kind and unobtainable.

RULES:

All of the items for this game have a maximum value of up to $1. That is, the item can either be free or be purchased for up to one dollar (US$ please). The one caveat to this is if an item is a throw away part of a larger item--say the cap off a soap bottle that costs $5, that's permissible.

To give a bit more details on the caveat above, an important aspect of this Scavenger Hunt is to reuse existing household products that may not even be thought of as detailing products. Bonus points will be awarded for this creative thinking!

There will be a specific meeting time posted for everyone to display and demonstrate their finds at MITM. Let's get our creative juices flowing, and start collecting today!

Categories to Find:

These are meant to be vague--please interpret how you wish but always put priority on how they will be used. The optimal list may have up to 20 items and will all fit inside of a small bag that will fit in the boot of the MINI however quality and cleverness are prized over quantity. Each category may have several items--the best kit will be well rounded and most importantly useful to a MINI owner detailing his/her own car!

1. Car wash tools and accessories
2. Storage for microfiber towels (on the go and at home)
3. Tools for prying and safely removing parts
4. Tools for picking polish out of the cracks and emblems
5. Microfiber towel accessories
6. Microfiber towel care
7. Interior cleaning tools
8. Mobile on-the-go paint care

More categories maybe added later, stay tuned.

Sounds like a fun adventure.

Heck, your post time, 2:06 am, sounds fun all by itself....

WOW 109 views and only 1 reply. I saw another post that inferred that atleast a few people are playing my game. Only one week left before MITM. Ok, 1-1/2 weeks, but this is your last full week.

I've got several more fake credit cards in my junk mail and a few room cards added to my little stash.

The winner of my scavenger hunt is going to go home with some very nice prizes, so I would encourage you all to try your hand at it before time runs out.
