Reset maintenance schedule light

I know I know old subject

but after searching for hours I cant find the link to reset the service milage on the odometer. I never bother to reset it but now I have about 9000 miles showing when I start the car and I want that to go down.

So how do I reset the maintenance light on the odometer.

Thanks

You cannot reset it to LOWER the miles until next service. If you go through the reset procedure, it resets the miles to next service back to the default 15k. If you want to change to oil sooner, the cost is on you.

As far as using it for oil changes it's just a reminder that looks better then a sticker on your windshield. If you want to change the oil twice as often just do it at 7500 and 0. I'm sure the 15000 is buried somewhere in the programing, but probably wouldn't be worth trying to change. As far as the dealer or you paying for the oil change they use the odometer reading too and know if it's been 15000.
