Leather Repair

Sent my car to the detailer today. And when I got it back there is a nick on the passenger seat. They call the claim "questionable" since they say that their vacuums have no sharp edges and neither do their employees. Yes, it really says that on the claim form they filled out. Anyway, the manager told me to get a couple estimates for a repair and get back to him. If it is not too expensive, he will pay it directly, otherwise, it goes to an insurance adjuster.

My question is this: has anyone ever dealt with fixing leather? The mark is very small and it is not torn all the way through, but the surface is kind of peeled back a bit. The whole thing is maybe 1/4" long.

It was my first time to go to this place and likely the last.

Where exactly is it, and what type of leather do you have? (Lounge leather, etc.)

It may be just as expensive to fix as it would be to order a new seat cover from MINI

Black punch leather. It is on the main flat part of the front passenger seat, not on the back or on a bolster.
