I get to do the shipping thing again!
Just dropped my car off in Frankfurt today, to have it shipped to the States. Around 5 weeks before I get it back.
Now I've got a reason to put Skuzzy's whining to shame! WooHoo!!!

They'll truck it to Bremerhaven and load it on a boat. It gets dropped off in Charleston, SC; and I'll fly out there and drive it to Oklahoma.
I will miss driving it here in Deutschland.

$200 drop off fee for Frankfurt (instead of Bremerhaven)
$200 U.S. port fee/Customs brokerage
I shipped a car from VA to here in '03, and cost was about the same. ($900 shipping and $100 port fees). German Customs is easier than U.S. Customs, particularly due to the Status of Forces Agreement.
For Military sales, Volvo has the best program. They ship the car to the dealership of your choice for free. You have to pay BMW to do it, and they only ship it to a port. Houston (Galveston) was listed as an available port, which would have been better for me, but it's no longer an option...
waiting 16 weeks for my mini has not been easy and it aint over yet so whine on.
