I'm planning on going out of town for a few days and don't want bird stuff sitting on my new paint while I'm gone. What is anyone's experience with the OEM cover putting scratches in the clearcoat of a freshly washed MINI? Yea I'm a nut.
I plan on keeping this car for the long haul and would like to keep it looking sharp.
Thanks,
Nick

I have the mini cover for my mini, you just have to make sure you don't get the cloth one that one stains your paint if it gets wet. Ii have the OEM dealer cover which is partial water proof and is very well finished, I use it when I take my mcs to work its a very dusty place it keeps the car clean longer, I would recommend you check with your local dealer on the $$$ it doesn't run cheap.

Are you talking about the one out of the MINI catalog: the grey one with the blacked out windows and tires/sort of a light nylon? This is the one I have. Does it soak through when it gets wet?
Thanks,
Nick

I have the MINI OEM car cover, the grayish-blue one with the blacked out window area. I am very pleased with both the fit and the job it does. I have not noticed any scratches, but I do run a California Duster over the rear hatch area as it gets dusty very easily before putting the cover on.
