I just got my new R56 MINI less than 1 week ago. I LOVE it. Mellow Yellow with black bonnet stripes, Comfort package, Cold Weather package, upgraded audio/stereo, VentureShield, and iPOD integration. It took me awhile to figure out the iPOD integration, but I did figure it out and I like it -- TO A DEGREE.

There is a noted limitation of the iPOD integration (MINI iPOD integration instructions) that limits the amount of songs/artists/albums to no more than 255. That means that when I open a directory of songs or artists or albums, I only see the 1st 255 entries. I have an 80GB 5th gen iPOD with the color screen and have nearly 50GB of songs on it. It's VERY frustrating to only be able to scroll a very limited amount.

One alternative might be to create multiple playlists of no more than 255 songs each. BUT, the way the integration works, you can only view items by song title via playlists, so you may have no idea who the artist/group is for that title.


Does anyone have any experience with this limitation and suggestions for how to get around it to view all of the artists and select songs by anyone I choose?

 

I'd suggest doing playlists of 250 songs. Not sure about artist display, I don't have integrated i-pod.

 

Thanks. I've tried the 250 song play list, and that might be what I have to settle for, but it's far from optimal. I'll keep on trying.
