I'm going to ask a stupid question, so please bear with me.

I have the iPod intregation in the SatNav and it works fine. However, I don't have voice recognition. At first I thought it was the same problem reported often on this forum until I realized that in order to have voice recognition, one must have the Bluetooth option. Am I right with this assumption?

 

If you have the NAV system you should also have the voice recognition system. It should have been listed on your order sheet, at least it was a seperate line item on mine.

 

Are you sure you don't have it, or is it just not working? This is/was a common problem which requires a software upgrade by the dealer.

 

I would think its not working, the Navigation system is either controlled by the joystick or voice (or so I've read). My suggestion would be to stop by the dealer and have them take a look at it.

 

Never thought to check the order sheet. "Voice activation" is indeed listed. Looks like this problem hasn't been corrected by MINI/BMW after all.
