New black color rumours

It's the time again! Rumors of what the new model year colors will be! A chap at mini2 started the rumor of nonmetallic true black coming back.

I should have waited! I don't like how the astro black looks in certain lighting situations so I opted not to get it but I wanted a black car.

Interesting that black is coming back. I wonder if any colors will go away. It seems like overall the new colors are doing well, and I really can't think of any going away. Maybe Jet Black will be Clubman only! (doh!)

I may be in the minority here but I would MUCH rather have metallic black...

I have an all AB MCS. I had a Cosmos Black Met BMW 330Ci before my MINI and it was slightly more dark blue to dark purple. Was a nice color and so is the AB in that it is always different instead of static.

A jet or otherwise solid black is very nice but that much harder to keep clean and not show scratches or dust in the paint etc.

If jet black comes back in 08, I will be the first to trade in my 05 Jet Black for one...

Maybe I will even camp outside the dealership, like the iPhone folks :D :D :D.

They need more non metallic colors ,the metallic chips to easy and you cant get touchup paint.Black would be a good start , orange would be another nice choice ,they have it in europe.

Solid black may be harder to maintain but oooooh there is nothing more beautiful than a perfectly detailed, shiney jet black car

My old BMW is a solid black car. It is next to impossible to keep clean. This is the reason why my mini is LiB, especially since it will be my DD.

How about a true white? Like the white they use as a roof option of the non-PW cars? They obviously have plenty of it lying around. I would personally prefer that very much over the pepper white... PW just looks to... well... "Cadilac" to me.

I would love a true black as well but it would be a killer here in AZ.

Lotus calls Jet Black "Phantom Black" and sells it as a "Lifestyle" color option. My bet is Mini will have similar "special color" pricing for JB.

How true. I drove home behind a late model "Super-Black" Volvo Coupe last week that was just stunning to look at. Lowered, wheels & tires, tinted, and BADGELESS! Super-Black is the best description I could think of.

The car's lines were so pronounced without all the badges breaking it up. I've never been a big Volvo fan, but this was a really well thought-out specimen.

All Jet Black rules! Sure I frequently have to wash it twice a week, but it just looks so fine! And don't let the heat stop you, the climate control does pretty well here in Houston. I'd love to see an all JB '07!

"White Silver" is a metallic bright white that is coming this fall as an exclusive color for the Sidewalk edition convertible. It was officially announced on the MINI UK website when the Sidewalk was introduced. Hopefully it will be carried over to some of the other models. Gert Hildebrand (R56 chief designer) made a brief mention of it in the MotoringFile interview.

OMG, can you say "Volkswagen Cabrio"? Please tell me it's not going to have a matching white leather interior.
