Without the MINI

Global has been too busy to see me lately, even though I'm in the minus count for service. Thankfully (if you can say that), I noticed an oil leak on the garage floor the other day. So MINI Roadside assistance will flatbed it to Global and Shakira will work it in. I don't have to take a weekday off for the other work needed on it (aux port woes, that loose turn signal, busted spare tire tool), which can't be done on Saturday, and I don't have to pay for gas to Atlanta and back!

Of course, I'll be without Car84 for a week or so. Thankfully, my new wife can sport me to work and back (and will get to park in the garage) in the meantime. Amidst the turmoil, life is good. And when I'm motoring again- It'll be even Better!!!

As you certainly have a right to say that, I'm apt to agree. Too bad I couldn't bag a rental through Roadside Assistance. Hope Coop comes home soon, spankin' fresh.

Thanks for asking. Chris and Angie got married in Flowery Branch, GA on 6-16-07. Sorry not to send word, it's been kind of frantic lately. But she has got the sweetest spirit and I'm really happy to motor with her. You may have met her at the toys for tots run, or possibly at the Dragon. And just as she's been great at shuttling me to work and home-

I can't wait to have Car 84 back!!!!!

Sorry to hear you are MINIless. Sometimes it can be a pain to get dates worked out right when you're that far away from a dealer. I had an issue not long ago that I didn't really have time to deal with. It's a good thing that I have some honesty left inside of me. The thought of a loose plug wire and how it would prompt MINIUSA to tow the car to Nashville so I could pick it up another day kept running through my head. I just couldn't do it though. I figured it would catch up with me somehow.

Good idea Teresa, and we'll take relaxed breaths in the meantime. Flowery Branch is 3 hrs away (4, counting the time change) or I'd have invited you all. Thanks to you and Golfman also for the well wishes, we're enjoying the ride. I'll have to link to some pics later, there are several shots of Car 84 pulling away that are nice.

Back on topic, all too true SB. Twice in the past two months, I was driving right by Global and both times they couldn't or wouldn't see me (as the miles kept racking up). To think a simple phone call to RA would cleanly expedite the car to a MINI service bay... that's quite a temptation! (I'm sure the key would tattle however)

Reunited, and it felt so good. The tow-me guy was still needing a sig or something, as I out was burning a mile around the neighborhood. New front brakes, motor mount and center stack on the inside: They fixed the ipod aux/jack problem with a new radio, which evidently included new AC controls- No more spilled OJ residue on the rocker switches!!! I think they washed it though... Who cares- I'm giving high fives this time. Slap me some skin, Global.

By the way, for all of the first ten seconds when I slipped in the key on Friday night; it was 8:04.

Thanks for the cheer, Teresa. Too bad Jeff- Hate it for you. Just no fun, indeed.

We may try to beat rush hour traffic and join you all; I'd forgotten about the date and had kinda made other plans. Would love to see you all under that fabulous lighting I'd read about.

Are you sure it's the lighting that makes everyone look so fabulous?
I heard it was their margaritas

Global has Car84 once again. ABC towing took her away last night.

She's been leaking from the coolant area. Stephen wisely advised me, but diaper, erm, nappy be shown- there's drippage for certain.

Sorry my Ladybug's in a cast and can't get to work presently (additionally sorry we missed the dinner- Love Macaroni Grilll). Fortunate I've another ride for now (Ladybug's) (still, MINI offered an Enterprise car); All Parties agreed it's warranteeable, (unless) Hope it's not from a rock....

I needed to get the collar on the lighter fixed anyway. :impatient

Was that an offer for me to be drivin' a DINAN? I've been waving at MINIs, in cognito, for days.

Thanks for the good luck wish.

Brian at Global just called- Thermostat housing replaced, brake fluid flushed, Luminous ring replaced. Soon I'll be singing "reunited" and giving high fives.
