WOW--its here in 29 days
I am a bit stunned. Order my MCS on May 23 and it was dropped off at the dealer yesterday. Incredible!! Did anyone else get this lucky ? I must have caught every production/shipping cutoff down the line.Stopped yesterday to help a friend spec a car and my MA says--your car is due tomorrow. In fact--sometimes the computer is slow to update--it might be here now. We jump in car and drive out to the backlot and there it was.
Now I have to wait for the clear bra install and PDI .
I must have lucked out. He quoted my freind 7 weeks on the car he ordered yesterday.
It may take longer to get it prepped by dlr than it took to get here. MA says they are a week behind ON DELIVERIES. Maybe I'll have to park myself at his desk so he will want to get my out of his face...
I THINK I MIGHT JUST BE OBLIGATED TO HEAD OVER THERE AGAIN TODAY AND CHECK OUT THE PROGRESS. LOL

You are forcing me to go visit now. Tsk tsk. I may just shoot some wrapped in paper shots. Kind of crappy weather around here today BUT I'll tough it out.
I may just be the world's biggest baby when it comes to cars. I'm losing sleep over a MINI that is replacing a virtually identical MINI--oh---forgot the extra
67 horsepower.

thanks. I am glad that had a sale on lucky horseshoes at Nordstrom's last month
amazing--I feel for you-that's a long wait. My friend ordered yesterday and was told mid August. Seems like your dealer has unusually long wait times.

Hey emtrey, thanks for posting those pictures! It's amazing how sticker prices can wind up about the same yet the owners go off in different directions. That's what makes it so much fun. I'll try that same newly learned picture uploading skill when mine gets here! Have fun breaking yours in.
Part of the fun/confusion on spec-ing a MINi comes from the ala carte nature of the ordering. My 2004 was on the lot but fairly loaded. Ordering this car gave me a chance to drive myself nuts w/ the configurator. I had a fairly good idea what I wanted but did make some changes along the way based on suggestions from my MA ( he turned me on to the cream color line interior) and the addition of the convenince package after a friend of mine (also in the ordering process) had me ask the MA about the Bluetooth. That's when I realized I really needed it too.
All that said, I did get cold feet on the cream line ( due to my clean car freakiness , not the look) and went to change the order. It had just hit the drop dead date and I would have pushed back 2 weeks. I left it alone--it was for the BEST. I love the warmth and how the cream offsets the seat piping.
VERY ENGLISH.
The timing is a crap shoot. I hit all the spots. My friend ordered his 3 days later and is 2 weeks behind me. My other friend ordered Friday and has a 7 week wait. Who knows...The wait is so excrutiating because these cars are so much fun and their respective owner's can't wait to see what they have created and how it MOTORS.
I am trading CR/white/white 04 for a cr/white/white 07 and was still wondering how the new car would look till I saw it on the ground.
Perhaps this says it all about the MINI mystique--I am just as pumped about picking up the MINI on Wed as I was when I picked up my Porsche in October. These cars are infectious.

to rattmobbins--
I have seen your exact car in my local showroom. It was being delivered the day I ordered mine. ITS FANTASTIC. SORRY IF THIS MAKES THE WAIT TOUGHER but YOU WILL HAVE AN AWESOME, HOT CAR. Hang in there.

Ha ha ha! I knew I had to have a twin somewhere! Did it have the web spoke wheels, or the crown spokes? I went with crown spokes as a way to save $500, but the webs are truly growing on me. I wish you could get them without the run flats. Oh well.
This car had the webs. I had a friend of mine talked into them the other day BUT he wanted all seasons and that was not a choice.
I took the RFs off my 04 Cooper and never looked back. I am reserving judgement on this car till I drive it for a bit. The RF ride was horrible on the 04 Cooper so I went with non Rfs but that car did have a spare. If I am unhappy with the RFs , I will not let that issue stop me from making the change.
That said , there are a boatload more choices in 215/45-17s than than the 205/45-17s. I think that rolling cirumference change is acceptable. ( You can see I am already exploring my options)
