Suspension Click/Honk sound from front left suspension
Click/Honk sound from front left suspension
I'm having a very weird problem on the front left suspension on my '05 MCS w/ H-Sports. Whenever I accelerate from a stop, or very quickly rolling, or brake hard the suspension seems to make a Click noise, almost like a honk. Its only audible with the windows down.
I took a look inside and the bushings didn't look torn, and I can't see any visible reason its making noise. I'm thinking maybe its the H-sport bump stops possibly?
The front right busing is torn, probably from a prior accident, but the sound seems like its from the left side.

did you do the install yourself? if so, i would recommend checking if
the spring is sitting correctly on strut spring seat and also the top
mount bushing.
if you see any gap especially the top where the previous spring sat
and where your h-sports are currently sitting it could be your spring
is trying to twist and resettle.
if that's the problem you'll need to remove that strut, loosen the top
nut until you can move the mount around and put it back together
again making sure the spring's ends are properly seating to how the
previous spring (factory spring) was sitting.
also, you didn't put any type of rust repellant spray on it right? some
people learn the hard way that those sprays do not dry like paint
and it makes the springs stick together. lol
