Because, you know, this IS a MINI and I've had some threats. Well, OK, not so much threats as accusations that I'm somehow "channelling my inner 13-year old Hisapanic kid" (no kidding). I dunno... maybe it's that whole "fascinating shiny objects" thing that I... oh, look, a quarter!

Serously, all the Beefy Strips ran for about $180 (2X 6' and 2X 3' plus assorted wires, zip ties and a switch), but I happened to get them while he was running a sale, so I saved about $50. Labor, of course, was paid in good old-fashioned sweat.

I'll be doing a How-to soon - just need to get everything together with some proper night shots.

Seems like that is another project to put on the long list of never ending things to do that will never get done....

Good work though man!

Oh....and I'm 5'5, 110lbs....I don't think I could kick anyones ***. There is a reason people call me MINI ME.

That is most certainly awesome and insane! And by "insane" I don't mean, "when the Hondas and Acuras do it I think it's lame but when I see it on a MINI, it's AWESOME!!!"

Thanks for that!

Ouch, that had to hurt. Rally really hit him below the belt with that one. Let's see what ImagoX comes back with. We know he's a fighter.

Hey, the guy's got a tartan e-brake cover... If that single item doesn't illustrate the vast, yawning gulf that seperates our differing tastes, I don't know what does...

The photo really washes the light out - in real life the glow is more rich. It's not an everyday (or night) thing - it's just for the occasional MINI meet/Midnight run/fun time. I've been getting comments (good and bad) since I decided to "defile" the MINI with blue cathodes, so I'm pretty unfazed by stuff like this - to each their own.

HAD plaid boots....just rocking leather right now. And that's cool that you recognize different tastes...it's important. It's not like the honda guys put them on without liking them

If everyone had the same MINI then it would be pretty boring, right? Don't worry - I know that mine is the best.

Dude, you got a mini-themed rolling light show now. I am in awe of your energy, know-how, and imagination. We've only been home from the Dragon a month, where you put on a great seminar, and now this.

If you lived down here, you'd be in demand for Mardi Gras night parades.

LOVE that shirt!

Nice pics, too. Great idea using the mirrored windows.

Now if you can just figure out how to get it to hover without the wheels on, (or maybe have the wheels flip up horizontal like on the Back To The Future DeLorean) you'll be set. Oh yeah, and it's gotta make that low whirring sound...

I really like those last set of pictures. Reflective was a nice touch. :D

And btw ImagoX, thanks for all the previous posting you did on lighting. I am 'almost' done with my interior.
