Driving Light Install With Aero Grille Template?

I recently installed the black aero upper and lower grilles and am ready to install the factory driving lights. After measuring the grille, aligning the brackets with the upper grille, it appears a good chunk of the grille must be removed to feed the brackets through AND to allow enough room to attach the brackets with the grille in place (I'm using stainless bolts). Before installing the upper grille, I fitted and drilled the holes for the brackets according to the downloaded instructions on MotoringFile. I treated the holes with touch-up paint.

Is there a template available to cut the grille? Photos? Tips on attaching the brackets with the aero grille with stainless bolts? It sure seems like a tight fit to allow any room for a nut driver/socket to reach the 8mm nuts.

Thanks for your help!

Just a word of advice. Use a cork or drill bit stop when drilling the brackets up toward the bonnet skin!

There is indeed a template. Not a whole lot of material needs to be removed to slide the brackets in. When installed, you won't notice there is anything missing when looking at it.

Got that part done already without incident, but THAT would really suck with on outward dent.

There was not a template for the grille in the box with the lights, just the template for the switch cut out. I have the part number for the grille template so I'll ask the dealer for a copy of it when I see them this Friday for service on the PW/B MC, (one year anniversary this week!).

Thanks for your help.
