Ok,
By now, most of you have figured out that any Garmin GPS that can read srf files can use the MINI files and screens. But how's this for something to try... Zumo firmware on the Nuvi 350/360? Not sure it would work, but the Zumo speedometer screen is much nicer than the one on the Nuvi! From what I can tell, the hardware is basically the same, memory, SD card, 320x240 screen. So, in theory, the Zumo firmware could be copied manually onto the Nuvi. Anyone willing to brick their Nuvi for the cause? Or at least just to see what happens?

Also, yesterday, I managed to get the Nuvi to take me on a wild, twisty MINI route. I had avoidances turned on, with no u-turns, no dirt roads, and no highways... The Nuvi did a great job of getting me from Harpers Ferry WVA to Alexandria, VA on all back roads... and they were nice! Now I just need decent wheels and sticky tires...

 

No U-turns? Would be nice if the MINI nav had that option....

 

I agree! But I usually just mute Cortana's voice direction when I know that she is going to suggest that make "a legal U-turn if possible", crank up the stereo and turn her back on when the route recalculates.
