Alarm System?

I just noticed the Alarm System in the Mini Configurator changed:

from: Available June 1
to: This item is currently unavailable

Any thoughts on why it's still not available?

I noticed the 2002- 2006 Mini Motoroing Accessories You-Ification Workbook has it listed for $295 so it's been available in the past.

Will this be a FACTORY installed or will the dealer do it?

I haven't looked at the COnfigurator lately, but it was intended to be a factory install, which the dealer can also do, for an outrageous labor chage. No idea why it keeps getting delayed. It's only an alrm. I would suspect it would just slow down production. However, the cars come prewired for it (which is why they have LEDS on the top of the tach housing. So, once it is availabel, I would imagine it would be a relatively easy insstall, depending on how they set up the interior sensors.

It appears that it also requires changing out the cover that hides the "emergency" sunroof closing access. I assume that this is for the motion sensor.

Here is a link to the system:

It is an easy install, but the dealer has to programme it which takes about an hour, or so I read elsewhere. The price quoted to me was $395, plus fitting hahahahahahahahaha
