It's on the website...I kid you not.

Not sure if it's actually available or just a "concept".

Okay, that's actually pretty cool. For those not into performance mods and into motoring for the sake of travel this diea works out pretty well. Though with the ground clearance you'll be 'MINI-tenting' on asphalt. Would be great for tail-gaters though - both kinds:

- Deploy the tent to enjoy a tail-gate picnic with family and friends
OR
- Deploy the tent on the freeway to rid yourself of that annoying tail-gater
(the tent deployment option could take up that missing toggle space - patent pending)

I wish I could find the tent option pic on the MINIUSA site. I've looked...

I wish L were online as she'd be absolutely all over this thread.

I love the "tent deploy" idea. Even better than trunk monkey.

Thanks...now I see.

OMG.
The tent deploys out of the trunk door, allowing the car to become more versitle, and adaptable to individual functions such as a temporary shelter, retail space, or even a common community area.
A "common community area" ?

>>You know, there's a reason why this whole post modern design thing has already died... <<

Hear, hear. I quote:

"On an experimental level, the MINI_motion car and tent continues to explore the theme of seamless mobility from the car interior to the outside."

Give me a tent-deploying break...

Well I'm going camping this summer and need a test. Sure this would be very nice!, but if it's not in a well groomed area, it could be difficult to park your MINI where you want to camp

Does anyone remember the "pilot" to South Park when Cartman was abducted by aliens? That's the idea I get when I see that tent protruding out of the rump of the MINI. I am hoping this is just classic British sarcasm.
