Steve Hazard overcame my cautions. The last time I was on that track was with the Superbike School, so long ago that we ran it clockwise. I fell off in turn 4 going up the hill... Most humbling.
Been going there since 1974 and never took four wheels out to try 'em. Should be fun.
I've a green JCW Cooper, with a few tweaks - the name's Charlie.
See you there.
Jason - in the Velvet Red (brown) / White Cooper, also with a few tweaks
Looks like registration is still open. Surprised by that.
I've never done an actual track day, only the ADSS up there. What kind of a beating do your tires take? That would be the deciding factor for me to make it.
I only have my everyday 16" and PZeros to use, my spare set has a bent rim, and probably no time to get it straightened.

On brand new street tires, you will probably see some chunking. I did on a set of Goodyear F1 GS-D3. On already broken in tires, that won't be an issue.
It seems like you usually end up leaving NHIS with more rubber on the tires than you had when you started. You pick up a ton of rubber clumps from the track.
Seriously though... I don't think NHIS is that hard on tires unless you're sliding around a lot. Sure, it wears them down, but not horrendously.

Is that it for Minis? Shall we surrounded by M3s?
Who else??
here's a lap from the school - what a great event! most educational...
i was braking early and not too hard, as i've stock brakes and didn't want to cook them. that helped me not play "boy racer" and kept me focussed on hitting my marks. great thanks to John Oglesby who was my instructor for the day. touching 105 down the front straight and listening to the cooper's wail bouncing off that wall was just waaaay to much fun!

I haven't been through my video from the event yet, other than this moment which told me it was time to soften up the rear swaybar:

More video coming later. It was nice to finally get the chance to pass some people again. :D

Hi Folks,
I had a great time and had the opportunity to work with Jason, Lance, and even give Liz a ride on the track. Way cool!
snid... that car was sooo much more capable with the bar set a notch softer, if your autocross I would expect your times to drop now.
