Oil catch can for ONE/Cooper, anyone?
Hi all,
I did a search abt oil catch can and all the results is for MCS. ONE/Cooper doesn't need any? Anyone installed any oil catch can on your ONE/Cooper? Any photo to show how it looked like aft installed? Please comment/advce.

It only applies to the MCS. The idea is to catch oil vapors and junk before they get recirculated into the intercooler (others can explain it better than I, but more or less), which only the S model has.

While there is nothing stopping one from installing a catch can on a One/Cooper, there is no reason to do so. As said above, the function of the catch can is to filter out the oil from the crankcase vapors prior to them being introduced into the intake stream and burned in the engine. The intercooler tends to condense the oil mist from the vapors and the resulting oil coats the inside of the intercooler, reducing it's efficiency.
The MC engine, along with just about any other typical gasoline engine regardless of make, whether intercooled or not has some amount of oil mist in the crankcase vapors. It's the nature of the beast. If the recovered vapors never pass through an intercooler, there is no need to filter them out.

can i block or leave this hose like this?

Another question, please refer to the attached photo (sorry I don't know what this hose is called). Originally this hose is connect to the OEM air filter, now I have changed the air filter to BMC CDA and realised I don't have any place to install back that hose onto the BMC filter
So currently I re-route that hose (buy additional hose to make it longer) to the bottom of the car (beside passenger wheels) to let oil/air/etc out onto the floor. Will this cause any problem? Also what if I block/cover this hose instead leaving it open? Any problem?

That is the breather inlet hose. Most people will fit a tiny air filter to the hose that is made for this purpose. This inlet needs filtering of some sort to keep airborne dust out of the engine. You can also tap the intake hose along it's length and connect the hose there.
