Whats the difference between traction contron and LSD

I was just wondering if there is a difference between the traction control which we use alot in Canada for the snow bound days and LSD.

You mean the MINI's ASC (All Season Traction Control)? My MA wasn't sure, but what I've deduced is that ASC applies the brake to a wheel that is spinning too fast.

The LSD transfers power from one wheel to the other to keep them spinning at the right speeds -- the same speed if going straight. If you are turning, the outside wheel would be going faster than the inside...
