Sold my 2002 E46 BMW M3 as I was nearing the end of my warranty and now have to drive about 30 miles to work. The R56 MCS to me is a very natural and gradual step down, I really won't be sacrificing much and gaining quite a bit! I absolutely love this car, and have since the Italian Jon (LOL).

I recieved my production number today, but looking it up it shows a completely different vehicle. Dealer said this was normal and should become my spec within a week or so. No VIN as of yet.

Robin, I saw that you just got the call for your car, congrats! You must be excited. Make sure to show us all some pics when you pick it up thursday! :P

Nice spec! Good luck with the wait, from what I've been reading on various threads, you can expect to be completely insane within a month(just look at Skuzzy )

 

Welcome to the waiting line! I too am coming from a BMW (X5), and don't feel like it is a "step down" either. For me, the MCS reminds me of my 1974 BMW 2002tii, except that it has many, many more features, and a lot more "fun" factor.

 

We got our order in on 5/5 as well. Got it in the sig line now. What kinda production date did you get?

Checking the owners lounge has been alot like getting a CrackerJack prize. Wheee. Next?

 

Welcome and congratulations! The wait is tricky, but worth it. I have a very similar spec including the Rooster Red. It looks great. See my gallery for photos - I know I spent the weeks after ordering looking for photos of similar cars so I could feel reassured.

 

Just ordered mine yesterday, production is for June and delivery sometime late July or early August.
