JCW Upgrade with a One Ball?

I am getting slowly closer to going with the Full JCW kit for my MCS. I have one question however (actually i have more questions, but i will just ask this one for now).

Has anyone run the standard MCS exhaust in One Ball configuration on a JCW? I ask as I have seen many comments that the one ball flows better than most Cat-Backs (including the JCW exhaust), and that the JCW Exhaust is also quieter than stock. So would running the One ball on a JCW help both performance (if only slightly) and sound? I figure this could be a way to save a little cash on the pricey JCW kit as well, since I could eliminate the exhaust install and potentially sell off the JCW exhaust.

By they way, is the JCW Exhaust install a simple bolt on process? That way if the stock/one ball Exhaust disappoints on the JCW, I could just swap in the JCW Exhaust myself. See I told you I had other questions.

the gains would be very similar with the oneball and the jcw, sound wise depends what you like, as far as being quiter than stock i believe that is only on idle and WOT i am sure it is louder than stock. The thing you really get with the JCW exhaust are the tips, but if you decide to go one-ball you could also get tips that are upgraded from mini. and it would only cost around about $100

JCW is quieter than stock. However, where is the emperical data that one-ball gains more HP than JCW over stock. You got dyno numbers?

If you do a search on MINI2, someone there claims they dynoed both the JCW and Borla Race with the Borla Race making only 2 bhp more than the JCW. Without hard figures, I would not trust anything that might be "opinion". The JCW exhaust was also designed and meant to be an integrated part of the overall JCW system (whatever that means). Without actual testing, you would have no idea what the effect of the oneball will due to the overall system. It may actually lose HP. Thats why I think you need to see actual numbers. I would hate to buy a JCW 210 bhp system to only find out I messed it up by replacing a component and got say 205 bhp

Sound, on the other hand, is a personal choice.

Well to my old fart ears the JCW sounds just right. When I'm gassin it the JCW sounds more muscular than the stock system to me. Yep & don't forget those pipes. They say JCW on each one & we all know that's at least 5 more ponies x 2.

I didn't say the One_Ball gave more HP than the JCW Exhaust. I don't have any data at all, just saw a thread somewhere that compared one ball to other exhaust favorably. Since you cannot buy a JCW kit without the exhaust anyway, this would just be an experiment, and the JCW exhaust could be put back on. So know way this would mess up the JCW.

This does not make any sense: Why would you buy a full JCW kit for thousands of dollars to get the 208 or so hp, then sell the exhaust and do the one ball to save a few hundred dollars... when you could simply get a decent exhaust, intake, and pulley for $1500 or so and get about the same power? Warranty?

I've never seen anything that claimed the one-ball outperformed the JCW, or any other good exhaust, people do it because it's cheap.
