From NY Port to Dealer?

My MC is due into NY, NY sometime today and is heading off to Bala Cynwyd, PA. Is there anyone else that took delivery at Mini of the Main Line? From the date of entering port, how long did it take you to actually pick up your Mini? The dealer is telling me that it takes at least a week for them to get the car after it arrives at the port. Does that seem right? I am very anxiously awaiting the arrival of "my first born MC".

Not sure how long it will take, but I was told by my MA yesterday that once the car has arrived,it takes another 2 or 3 days for the paper work to get to the dealer.

This is highly variable. My MINI arrived at the port on April 1, entered the VDC on April 2, and arrived at the dealer (no more than an hour away) on April 13, but some of this 11-day stay was because I had the JCW Aero kit installed at the VDC. It all depends on how busy the VDC is, whether they need to do any non-routine work on your car, and how long it takes to put together a truck-load headed your way...the trucking companies don't like to run half-empty trucks around, if they can help it, I imagine.

You'll find it very difficult to track what is going on during this period, which is frustrating because it's so near.

Good luck!

My car arrived at the port on 4/30. It arrived at my dealership (mini of peabody) today. My MA told me the paperwork will be in around 11:00 on Wednesday morning so I will be picking it up Wednesday night. Unless anything changes, it will take a week and a half from arriving at port for me to take reciept of the vehicle.

took me 8 agonizing days from "off the boat" to at the Morristown dealer. This is the worst part... hang tough. You'll hear disaster stories, you'll hear miracles. you'll be driving soon. not soon enuf, I'm sure, but hang in there.

I also bought my 07 MCS from Mini of the Main Line, I know your pain of waiting, but yes it took about 7 days from the time it hit the VDC to the day I picked it up.......Good dealer choice.....Best new car buying experience in 30 years.......
