Speed Freaks

I was at the Navy exchange in San Diego and I came across a bunch of ceramic cars( about the size of a fist maybe a little bigger) They were cartoonish looking (think rat fink without the large rat) there were a few different models but no minis :( i looked at the back of the box and there was a classic mini pictured but it wasn't at the exchange. There was a web site I checked out www.countryartists.co.uk. There was a classic mini that was discontinued called "wee one" and a classic called "monte". I wrote them to see if they woulld ship to the states and they notified me that monte was discontiued and they had no stock left :( not to be defeated i went over to ebay and got both of them. there was only one wee one and a bunch of the monte so for you colectors out there here is something else to look for.

I remeber when I was a kid, well in college, you could buy plastic models like this. I got a normal model of a vw van, built and painted it and put it in the oven and cooked it 'til it started to curl up. It was a favorite piece of table art for years.
