Sorry to blow the horn on this guys. This was never real it was a marketing ploy by Mini from the very start. The robot you see on the sight is Computer generated. They hired a well known animation studio( www.zoicstudios.com ) to make the videos for a fake website. The website was put together to look like a real guy was doing this in secrete. But really think about that. If there was a real bot like that it would have been big news on every news station in the world.

I found out as a little kid that my dad was really the tooth fairy. . . . for everyone!

 

The Tooth Fairy is real it's the easter bunny you have to watch out for. That had to be someones idea of a big joke. Going around and giving very large baskets filled with candy to small children.


It's all a big conspericy. Bunny gives chocolate, kids eat chocolate and rot their teeth therefore loosing the tooth and then the tooth fairy comes along and gives them money for it. Man! No wonder my child doesn't want to brush her teeth. At 5 bucks a pop she's got a gold mine in there.

Finally got my MINI Robots today. The hood/chest plate on the red one is broken off I'm upset, but its not the end of the world. This is why they make super glue

I think I'm going to wait till the dealer gets them. That way I can pick the ones I like the best.

I would order all 3 if I could do it at the dealership so I could use my 20% discount card.

Well after seeing these guys at the dealer I think I will wait for Hasbro to make a tranformer one. I know that it is in the works . I think they are still trying to aquire the lisence from MINI.


I was really unimpressed with these toys. They were very cheaply made. Not worth 20 bucks to me when a tranformer that really does something is the same price.

Oh well.

Is it possible to get a red with checkered roof? Are the rooves exchangeable?

 

you can't pick which roof you want, but they are separate from the robots. you have to put them on. so you could get a silver and get a red and swap the roofs.

-- I agree that the quality is pretty sucky. They're much bigger than I expected, which is awesome.. but I feel like I'm going to break them if I touch them. So they sit on the shelf and just look nice.

 

My dealer, Downtown MINI, has them in. I'll pick up a couple on Friday.

Ditto. I went in to buy one, saw an open one on the sales counter, picked it up, and was WTF? It's Plastic? Marketing dropped the ball on this one. Didn't even buy the one I had reserved. I took my $20 to the MINI/BMW parts desk & bought more lug bolts.

Weak.

 

You can never have enough lug bolts. Fine choice sir.
As for me I just put the $20 back in my pocket and used it on gas for my Mini.

 

I just got two in the mail today (red and Silver). I agree- They are not the nicest collectables in my MINI collection. But they look good on my shelf next to all the other MINI stuff so I'm happy. I would love to get a real MINI transformer, that would be great!

 

Are there any of these left anywhere?

I've been trying to find one without success...
