I don't build anymore, but I sure loved doing it when I was a kid.

This wall art is a cool tribute to the craft (for only $2500).

I believe it's 3' 8" square.

Thanks GTS and alpinamike, but...

I was finally able to find one of the Hot Wheels HO MCC's a couple of weeks ago. Been busy and forgot to post on here that I found one.

I really appreciate the help!

Whoa!!! There's finally a new HW MC (or is it MCS?) out? I'll have to start haunting Target et al again! It'll be my first MCC too...

I'm just assuming that's what Mishka was referring to ...

But I have to admit that I sometimes have trouble wading through alphabet soup... even MINI alphabet soup.

I would venture to guess that there's a Hot wheels hot orange cabrio model out there somehwhere ... but probably not in the 1/64 scale .

(I'm pretty much sticking to 1/64s and smaller these days because -- well, they just take up that much less room! )

I picked this up at Tuesday Morning today. The brand is Darda. Go figure.

Scale 1:43. Note the painted over Cooper S gas cap on a Cooper.

Nice catch! It is red, I think they got cheap on us and went with only one interior color. The silver one has the same red interior

Yep, it's red. I went to a craft store and bought some copper(metallic) and Georgia Clay colored paints and mixed them until i had a close match to Hot Orange and then painted the dash/door trim to match my car. I still need to paint the seats so they aren't red anymore. I don't have any pics, but will try to get some this weekend and post them.

I then used the same mix and painted some blank Cooper Contacts from MotorSwag to put on Gromit. After putting a gloss coat over the paint to protect it, they are a little darker then the paint on the car, but still pretty close.

Here are some pics of my Hot Wheels Hot Orange MINI after the first round of "mods". I still have to touch up the Orange areas before I start on painting the seats. When I get finished, I am hoping it will look like Gromit when I brought him home. After I finish the interior, I'm going to try to find some bonnet stripes. In the end, the wheels will be different, but I think I can modify just about everything else without destroying the "mini-MINI".

In the pics my Hot Orange paint is noticably different from the car's paint due to the flash, but in natural light it is really close. I painted some of the chrome under the front grill and along the bottom of the rear bumper, and you can't tell the two colors apart unless you look really close.

At a later date I may get a second Hot Wheels MINI and detail it to match Gromit as I start doing some mods.

Looking good, Mishka. If you want to match the wheels, I'm pretty sure you can swap wheels with another 1:18 Hot Wheel.

Those are the right wheels!

I'll have to see how hard it will be to get the wheels off my car. Hopefully I won't have to destroy anything. Of course with my mechanical ability, I'll probably still end up destroying something.

Got this today:

The profile of the bonnet isn't 100% right. I guess it's b/c it opens. BTW, under the bonnet is the Cooper S engine The two halves of the base folds over the model to form a box.

I think I might have hit the limit today, either that or I need to expand the "Man Room"

Update time: I've found a few more on our advantures but it's getting hard to find the ones I don't have. As my wife puts it, "that's because you have them all." Which begs the question: can you have them all?

Finally managed to get a Kyosho with the optional Aero Package. It's a One, so the front grille and the rear hatch release trim are black. Don't know for sure, but I think they've got the wrong lens cover on the side marker - should be Amber right?

Got a Lincoln Mint model Mini - The Grandson and I will be putting this one together this coming weekend.

A Kinsmart with long board

A ceramic bank from Mahopac National Bank

And what has to be the cheapest built and poorly finished diecast yet. Sorry for the lack of quality in the photo, but trust me you don't really want to see this thing any better :

The scale is 1:43. It's a official MINI model available at the dealership (Part # 80-42-0-309-093) made by Minichamps.

Because I have all of the other ones that they have had over the years. lol so might as well keep the tradition going. used to get them when we drove down to Florida to visit my Parents, but we moved them back up here last summer so we don't go down there anymore. on the up side we may be going to Franklin NC sometime later this year and maybe we can meet up.

Ok, ok I'll make sure I get you one.

Now about Franklin...... We better get together!! I work there.
Are you guys Gem hunters also Got any interest in hitting the Dragon while you're in town? It's not that far away.

Squirlz - It's 1:18th scale. I've only seen the x-lites on that scale and even then only on Dealer sold models (MINI part numbered cars). Now if you want 5-spoke, I've got plenty of those
