March Photo Contest Topic

Follow this link for the: Rules and Submission Instructions The deadline for entry is the 25th of March.

NOTE: The photo contest is held to encourage people to take new photos with the topic in mind. As a result, please do not submit any photos taken before the contest topic was announced (see contest rules regarding EXIF data).

March topic :: Diecast Model(s)

Interpret that how you will, keeping in mind that the photos must be MINI related and that only one photo per member per month may be submitted.

Special Note: all photos must have a diecast model of a MINI and/or Mini in them.

I've been thinking of a picture like this for awhile, great timing to make this the topic, now if only I had a good camera.

Why not take a shoebox and make a pinhole camera!

You first Juan, we all need a competitive advantage from you if you can enter this month. (remembering a certain very cool contest entry with CR die-cast Minis in a chili pepper pot )

Thanks for posting the topic early Dave! I've got some good ideas I need to try and rig up. I hope this topic will result in more entries this month since cruddy weather isn't necessarly a factor.

Rerun, but very helpful for this month's contest:
super simple $10 or less DIY photo studio. Works for ALL cameras, no excuses anyone.

You know I wanted to do the same thing (almost) but then my idea was thrown out the window by that annoying special note.:impatient

So I'm not able to intrepret it as much as usual.

Back to the drawing board for ideas.

D'oh! The "special note" ain't so special, now that I've read it.

I guess I'll have to dig up the diecast MINI that I buried upside-down in the backyard for motoring luck.

Aw comeon! Nobody ever votes for mine, now especially Swifty is an "old school" MINI. But thanks for the vote of confidence.

How many entries so far Dave?

Sweet, Kurt's back with a new camera! Great photo BTW.

I hope to still give you a run for the money this month, but we'll just have to see. Wife's in overtime for baby delivery, but at least is comfortable and happy. I just hope the ND filters arrived so I can take the contest photo this weekend. FWIW, my die-cast Mini is a "Swifty" clone (will it help or hinder? ).

I'm hoping to get my 1st ever vote in this month's contest.
With the new camera, no less!

Thanks! And I had to budget for $200, so I'm happy with the results.

Wanna trade?

How did you get the "smoke" off the tires and the appearance of the front L wheel spinning? Very slick

I still can't decide which picture of mine to submit .

I'm very excited to see the various submissions this month!

...
The photo program (not Adobe's program) has an airbrush feature, and blur similar to a brush. I think this topic begs for photo manipulation. How much is allowed is a guess.
