VacuCams are back in the NAM store!!

Just a heads up in case you didn't see my vendor announcement. I've got VacuCams in stock again--they are being built, so allow 2 to 3 days after ordering for shipping. I always ship by FedEx Ground or Residential if I can determine where it's going--if you need it faster, let me know and I'll give you a quote.

The VacuCam Tow Hook mounts, VacuCam Mini, and VacuCam Pro are also available this week in limited quantities. I will post another announcement when the Tow Hook mount and Pro are ready for purchasing.

There is nothing to modify. If you have a laptop that can record an analog signal, then you're set. This is true of any of the wide variety of microcamera systems available on the market.

You can use a DVR, DVD recorder, camcorder, or VCR for recording--it's up to you. If the recorder can record from an analog signal then it will record a VacuCam.

Well recording directly into a laptop isn't always the best way. I bought a small DVD recorder for transferring VHS tapes to DVD for about $110 from Best Buy--video goes direct to DVD. I also use my camcorder which is the optimal way for quality and control. To use a VacuCam with the laptop, the best way is to get an analog to dv transcoder--cost around $250 or maybe less, haven't checked in awhile. It takes any analog signal and converts it to DV. Then port that into your laptop and record.

Richard, any word on when the pro and tow hook mount are going to be ready? They would make a great addition to my system.

I put the Tow Hook mount in the store over the weekend, I didn't enable it because I was hoping to get the Pro in the store as well. I forgot after all the work to get all the different products ready for sale that I didn't get have enough custom mounts for the Pro made---I made 5 initially as a test, so I'm going to keep one for my demo camera, and will make 4 Pro's available. My machinist is really busy and can't get more mounts made before the new year.

Just as a reminder, the Pro version doesn't have built-in audio, but it is encased in a weatherproof/waterproof metal housing for protection so a separate mic will be needed. Having the mic on the camera isn't useful anyways for external applications since all you pick up is wind noise.

I'm going to make the Tow Hook mounts available today. I've got about 4 VacuCam orders pending right now (since last Wednesday)--but I'll be out all day in the field today, so no orders will be shipped today.

The Tow Hook Mount Single is here:

You can save $10 off two mounts by buying the Two Pack here:

Thanks!!
