MLE, don't beat yourself up. I recently had a guy tell me about his stint at fashion photography. Dealing with the model is difficult at best. Having a studio so light can be controlled is important. Sounded like too much to think about!:impatient And if you are getting paid, the pressure is enormous to produce nothing less than spectacular.
And just because Tuls gave you a "real" camera doesn't mean you will majically take great shots without effort.
Where do find these girls? Did what's-his-name help out?

Thanks Kurt. The gals were supplied by the Salon owner, they are clients of his. The whole shoot was more for fun. I needed new shots and he needed some of his own hairtstyles to put on the walls...plus I got a memory card and soon might try and talk him into getting me a wide angle lense or something...who knows.

Nice shots. Nice models, too!

I recently got hit by the DSLR bug too - motivated by a trip to the USGP earlier this month. The artist formerly known as DiD was a big help in helping me to decide to spend WAY too much money on a lens for the event - no regrets tho.

It's a little fundamental, but I found this website: Digital Photography School and subscribed to the RSS feed of the blog. Sometimes the hints and tricks are a little obvious, but I've learned a thing or two and thought others may find it useful as well.
