Nikon D200
Why all the Canon hating? Just curious. I've got a 350D and am quite happy with it, but I'm also a novice. I shied away from the Nikons because they implemented that anti-competitive white balance encryption.
I don't see why the WB encryption is such a huge stinkin' deal.
I don't hate Canons. :D My fiance shoots Canon and she seems to be happy. She's going to purchase a 30D sometime in the near future.

No ill feelings toward canon on my part.
Well, other than they keep releasing cool products before Nikon.
That said, I'm comfortable that Nikon will step up when they do respond.

Just kidding. Jim
Oh..blalor, I don't see any photos in your gallery. Go shoot some!
My pics are on Flickr, Jim. Flickr's currently suffering from a hellatious case of the hiccups, however. *shrug*
Because, under the terms of the DMCA, they could prosecute anyone who reverse-engineers their format. It's an inherently evil law and Nikon's slightly more evil for pandering to it. Their encryption means that tool makers will be disinclined to provide compatibility with Nikon files. That's not to say Canon's walking around with a halo over their corporate head, but it's just one reason that I chose not to go with Canon.
