Congrats... excellent photo. It's "what I would have done" with my black mini...but I was too lazy. I can also tell you took a lot of time with set up and lighting to really get it perfect.

Yes, it did require a bit of preparation to get the shot.
The car is a BRG so it reflected the bunting well.

Thank you to the people who voted for my entry.

Oh, and thanks to fellow NAM member, vivahate, for helping me out with this pic. It's her MC in the photograph. She endured having to hold the red-white-and-blue props used. (Aside from bunting, we also tried a Stars 'N Stripes apron- both were bought at Target.)

Thanks Michele.

For some reason, there wasn't a doubt in my mind who took this picture. Great job: Very creative interpretation and execution as usual Juan.

On a slightly different Although I'd really like to know more about #2, and who the photographer was--to find out if this was really taken in front of those jets---anyone know any more details?? Was it a Photoshop job?

I remember misifoota posting a larger version in the polling thread. It didn't look photoshopped, the shadows were consistent throughout (as were the cloud reflections on the windshield).

So . . . . uh . . . . what's this month's theme?

Yes sneeky wasn't she...Misifoota

The Minis are infact infront of those jets...it was quite a bit of work lemme tell ya....I cannot say much as it's a major security issue...I can say this...I have done MUCH work for Boeing...designing things that don't exsist...ETC...Also my Father...the man who made me the man I am today is a retired Colonel. He is not the guys you see in the movies...he is a real guy who put aside the hush hush military to be with his family and not have to worry about secrets and not seeing us as we grew up. Still, it helps to have been raised with an understanding of respect that sadly todays youth I feel has lost...

Uh yeah...so...it was alot of work...I originally submitted such a small version cause it was in fact SO much effort...as for photoshop I did adjust the levels of the pic, add vinyetting and the white frame...then some how ...lil miss trouble took it apon her self to post it in the larger form...thanks Skinnee!!

Juan...I was sure mine would stand out...and it's funny as I scrolled down the page...I saw yours and stoped...that was it...I said out loud...HOLY S#!T...MLE was said, what?.."look at this" ...I couldn't belive it...that was by far the best Mini photo I have ever seen...it was absolutly amazing...I cannot belive it...everytime I look at it..I am just like...daaamn....It was so good I thought it was fake..LOL...it was that perfect...how much would it be for a FULL res version... I have printing services...part of what I do...if you would be interested in getting some printed off...PM me...I think the bulk starts at 1000 prints... but I am sure we can do less...maybe 250...price varis though and is cheaper when you print more...anything from 11 x 17 to 24 x 38...and ofcourse bigger...but as for standard sizes that range is the most popular...and anything in between...

great job to all...and thanks for the votes...but even I voted for Juan...

Thanks Juan and Tuls for the explanation on photo #2. I actually voted for #2 because I thought it was superbly done and must have required a lot of coordination to pull off even though it was obvious that Juan's would be the winning image!

Dang,
It's one of those weekends.
Got up late. Read this late. Didn't respond on account of I had to think of what I'd say.

My first thoughts were that this has to be the best testimonial anyone could have. I just know you as "Tuls" but I wish I knew you in person, who you are, after that story you confided about your dad.

I shared the same feelings as you though. When I saw your pic, I thought "damn, that is essence of the Red, White, and Blue theme!" My impressions were that it had to have been from one of you Arizonians. (either you Emis, or Hafid)

No matter.

I did vote for your pic also. (Never do I vote for mine.) Even Michele (vivahate), who helped me out on my pic, felt your pic was competitive.

Okay . . . as to making money off my pic.

Hmmm . . .
I am a teacher.
Some of y'all might also know that it isn't easy being a public schoolteacher nowadays. Respect for teachers is waning.

Photography has been a passion of mine for over 30 years. It has also been a road to a respect teaching has not allowed me.

Since teachers do not get paid during summer months, your offer is inviting.

However, I cannot fullfill your offer.
A schoolteacher is not a businessperson.
I wish I knew a way how to make money off my pics, since we teachers don't get paid during the summer months.

Good night then.
