How do I do different things in photoshop?

Hey, this is the first I've ever posted something in this section of the forum so here goes!

I have a certain photo, (THE ID OF WHICH WILL BE KEPT SECRET UNLESS YOU HELP ME DO THIS AND/OR I GET IT DONE!), that I want to change the color of leaves in a tree from green to any color I choose. Then I want to grayscale every thing else except my MINI and those leaves, how do I do this? The trees and their leaves are in the background and my MINI is in the foreground.

Thanks in Advance!

Mikey!

Do you have Photoshop? Sounds like three layers...one of leaves in which color can be manipulated, one of the background in which there will be no color, and your MINI which the color will remain as is.

- start w/ the image original and make three duplicate layers. Turn off the original layer (click the little eye off).

- desaturate the layer for the background (bottom). Adjust contrast/brightness to suit.

- add a mask to the leaf layer. Mask out all but the leaves...this may be tough to work on. Once masked you can make changes hue or otherwise manipulate color info at will.

- add a mask to the MINI layer (top). Mask out all but the MINI.

There may be other ways to accomplish this, but this'll get you started.
