New night shots! (about 20 preview pics - 56k be patient!)

Hey folks. Well it's been a while since I've shot anything. Just no time but last night we just had to do something. Several of us gathered together and hit a couple of spots I've been to before and one new location which produced one of the best pics I've taken, and of course, it just happens by accident. It's really funny.

So, the white frame pics were the final ones but thanks to Tuls and Emis for bringing their camera, there were some extra photos that they took, and also some post-processing fun by Tuls that I've posted below. Tuls also shot a lot of video and he's working on cutting it all together and we'll post those later once they are finished rendering.

I'll try to answer the questions that come up before hand. This was all shot with a Canon S45, at about 10pm-2am at three loacations in Phoenix/Scottsdale.

note If you want to get more information on the cars, please PM Tuls - that's his car in the indi blue with the CF bonnet, and he can tell you about his car and some of the others. That way we can just talk photos in this thread.

Special thanks to those that came along. From the Redline Runners, Tuls, Emis, Misifoota, Minicoop78, and Kalvin, and from Desert Rat Pack, Deemotered and MiniWildCat.

These guys will all be in Vegas. I'll be there too for only Friday night so hopefully we'll see you there!

I'm posting the preview pics with a link to the full size ones underneath each pic.

And a couple of pics from Tuls and Emis...this car is so hot in person!

And here are some of the above post-processed in other ways by Tuls:

I like this one. I like the way the white stripes play with the background and jump out at you at the same time.

V. Nice work everyone.

Hard to pick a favorite, but I will try anyway.

This one jumps out at me to be chosen as favorite . . .

Perhaps having put the single-striped MINI in the middle, just like in the pic posted after, might add to the image's overall balance. I like either way though.

My favorite also. I just screams, to me, A Clockwork Orange.

That's my #2 (more like 1.0001 in though) very close.

The shots are looking great, it was most deffinately a wonderful time! Hafid already posted one of mine but here's a few more. I mainly stuck to taking shots of the crew rather than the cars so as not to step on his toes :P. Here's what I have so far:
Mr.Cooper

The Gang

The Photographer

Great shots! I went out tonight for my very first attempt at night photography. I learned a lot -- but didn't get anywhere near the results you do I tried all sorts of different things, white balance settings, W/B autobracket, exposure bracketing, fill-flash, no-flash, lower ISO settings, higher ISO settings. I also learned that my tripod (an old Hibuka or something like that...majorly flimsy) and flash (Canon 420EX) SUCK major booty, and it'd probably be a good idea to get a remote shutter control device. Lessons probably wouldn't hurt either

I'll post some of mine in a new thread so not to hi-jack this one.

I think you have your chapter sticker right there! I like the redline runners in that highlighted clear! That would look great as your logo! Do you guys allow out of state members? Might have to join just to get one of those decals!
Fantastic shots guys! I like em all.

Thanks for the comments lads.

The usual story applies here with the night shots. I seem to go with the same settings:

ISO 50, anywhere from 8-15 second exposures varying the f-stop. Some pix have a bit of touchup to them, and of course, that $30 tripod is extremely necessary!

So it's been interesting to note which ones are your favs. the last pic is my favorite too. the best pic i think i've ever taken, and it was purely by accident. my second fav pic though is the 8th one with the two MC performance-sponsored cars....

the pic of the 5 redline runners cars wasn't originally a panoramic. the original had the entire building in the background but i didn't like how it looked. it seemed disproportionate so i cropped it to how you see it now. looks much better that way.
