Did a little exploring today...









It's getting to be that time of year these roads are getting warm dry grippy and fun again!

Great looking twisties, what sort of engineer would design a road like in the first photo. It almost looks like you could go straight and clip each apex. Where are these byways?

Probably the middle of April here to risk taking off the snows and putting on the summers.

These were in Door County, WI It's state road, but it is the last 1/2mile or so before a popular ferry in the summer, actually somehow missed the list of the good roads I searched for in the area on a motorcycle website.

Yeah forecast was for snow in the area during that time, we saw plenty of ice in the water, and somehow the snow missed us, and the temps got above 45!

I used to live in Daytona, you've got intersections use those green arrows wisely!

Never have seen a sign like the first photo, that mean "here is the road"?

Drew, the thing we really LOVE about the Badger State is that a large percentage of the county-maintained roads (at least those close to us) are nicely paved, unlike in our own state where they tend to be gravel.

We frequently sneak across the border into Grant/Crawford/Richland/Iowa/Sauk counties and take advantage of the sweet twisties in the Driftless Area. The driving doesn't get much better and the possibilities are seemingly endless.

I'm thinking what with global climate change and all that we'll eventually have a full year, snow-free motoring season. Then the area will be perfect.

(I'll come back with pics next time so as to stay on topic.)

I think it's an apex marker

Yeah the west side of the state has more land favorable toward fun driving but if you know where to go looking elsewhere in the state they can be found. Once I get my power steering pump all sorted out I suspect I'll be revisiting some of these areas with some green on the trees.
