MINI Cooper photography
It's actually not out of focus - the camera has just focussed on the wrong thing. The wall on the left of the photo looks pretty sharply in focus. If you're using autofocus, you can control which focus point it's using, and force it to focus on the car. Or you can use manual focus.
Great subject and color treatment - and turning the background B&W works really well.

Something I will definitely be more aware of next time...
great shots guys!
really compliments! I'm not an expert in photoshop, let's say that I don't use it at all, but I should learn
here's a pair pics of my justa, when just arrived and with some mods on... Soon I'll have some pics with the just installed coils

{ Cross-posting this from a thread I made in the +09 JCW section as I think many may have missed it there, and these photos remind me of the style originally being posted in this thread, tho I'm still more apt to try to bring-out shadows rather than darken them up.
.
EveytimeIDie ... did you stick with Pentax and also get the K-5? Wow, I love that camera! Everything I'd been waiting for to step-up from my K10D. }
Got a new Bike; a Raleigh Alley Way. Was out taking night shots of it when I realized the Mini was in a great location for a few more shots.

All photos in various sizes [in case you'd like to see it 'big'] are published here: JCW & Alley Way @ Night

everytimeidie, I love your shots and your style of photo's. Especially this one (below) - if you could give me any insight on how you took that, I'd really appreciate it!

It was a bit of an annoyance to take them. It was only around midnight so traffic hadn't subsided enough yet. I had to throw away many shots that got ruined by [mostly] taxis headlights that approached me as I was taking a 30 sec exposure as the light was red; I was very literally in the middle of the road right at the edge of the cross-walk when taking these. You can see the glare from headlights in some of them (2nd to last and especially the last one). The last one even has a dashed line across the frame from the blinking light on the helmet of a biker who refused my request that he go behind my camera sitting in the middle of the road and just rolled through the frame (what a douche). After that I said screw it and I used my single LED bike light I was painting the car with and painted all over the frame; turned out making a pretty neat effect and I ended-up keeping it even tho I chopped the bike's wheel a bit.
That's very nice of you to say. Much Thanx to you.

). So these shots were actually taken on the corner of 22nd St & 2nd Ave in NYC. The back-drop of those photos is the Church of the Epiphany or something like that.
But I thought I did explain the blue streaks in post #388...
The dashed line a bit off horizontal was a biker's blinking headlight clipped to his helmet ; the free-form streaks was from my 1 watt bike headlight [not blinking] that I held in my hand and was using to paint the scene, but then was creating streaks in the scene as I flailed my arms in frustration because of the biker who rode thru the shot, then the cab that was approaching before the 30 second exposure completed.
