I know what you are saying... Thats the way I used to do it. Well...cheat at it. Now that I know kind of what I am doing with HDR there is no turning back.

You can make pretty much any photo LOOK like an HDR with the Shadow/Highlight adjustment in photoshop.

Give it a try

Go Image>Adjustments>Shadow/Highlight and click the More Options box. Play with the levels and see what you can get.

Instant HDR!
The shadows/highlights tool is great and I use it with 99% of the time with my images but it still cannot compare to the tonal range achieved when bracketing your images and using HDR. There is a program called Topaz Adjust that is awesome, especially for the price. I would recommend it for sure!

Awesome front-on shot - great backdrops for the white car and such a low camera position (not sure how you managed that!)

Thanks. I just picked up a 580EX to team up with my 430EX, used both of them just out of frame at full power for this shot. I would like to pick up some AB800's but that out of my range right now. :(

1/20 f1.7

And thank you. Its my first real attempt at rolling shots. Its a whole new horizon for me.

And no Tina, I found a really sweet spot right over by my place. Its only a half mile long, but it works great!

I was going about 20mph. I still have a long way to go with rolling shots. I got like 2 good ones out of about twenty.

Anyway, here is the one other good out of the shoot.

I just checked the EXIF and realized you made a typo and was f/7.1, not f/1.7. Just wanted to clear that up in case anyone was wondering.

Personally I would have increased the ISO so I could have shot at a smaller aperture but thats just my .02. Either way I like the shots and looking forward to seeing more.

Yes, you are correct. sorry. Yeah like I said though. Iam new to the rolling shot world. So criticism is appreciated.

Thats the same way I feel. I enjoy constructive criticism on everything I post, thats how we all learn. We all need to start posting more, get this thread really going.

Nothing special but here's one from a recent run...

2 out of 20 isn't a bad turnout at all. The key is to shoot more for each photoshoot. I took over 250 pictures at my last rolling shot shoot and got about 40 in focus shots out of it.

If you're having issues with camera shake, bump the shutter speed up to 1/25. The blur will be a lot less but still adequate IME. That's typically what I shoot the first run with, then I'll start playing around with it after I'm sure I've got some decent shots first.
