i was looking at the tamron 28-300 xri the other day, and was thinking of buying it. now i probably will.

The 28-300 is really convenient, and surprisingly sharp. Expect however, barrel distortion and pincushioning on the short and long ends of the range. Needless to say, the long end should be used in good lighting.

I got the Tamron 28-300 XR Di a few months ago as a gift from a friend of mine. It hasn't been off my camera since I got it! I've had a lot of fun with this lens!!

haha, possibly. once i get my enlarger, i could make prints for ya if u wanted. until then, if u send me film, i can develop your negatives for you. I only develop black and white 35mm or 120mm film tho.

 

I took a photo class last year (last year of college) and LOVED being able to develop my own film. It was so cool. I'm so jealous that you're creating one in your house! Go you!

 

thanks i have wanted to build a darkroom since taking bw photo in 9th grade. i did my first year of college at Academy of Art in San Fran, and loved it. I have always found the developing/making prints process of photography to be the most fun.

its very easy and not expensive to develop your own negatives at home. i bought a light trap film developing canister from BHphoto online for around $15. and the only thing else u need to buy is the chemicals.

once i get my enlarger and have everything set up, you are more than welcome to come use my darkroom. u will just have to bring your own photo paper of course.

also, there may be local places (such as colleges, highschools, or photo stores) where you can pay hourly to use their darkrooms.

funny u mention it, because i have already decided that since i wont be able to make it to MOTD, i will be attending the Magical Mini Mystery Tour this year. will u be there also?


also, im leaving for san fran in 4 days to visit my college friends. Going to school in san fran was the first time i have ever been off the east coast. But it was definately the most amazing place i have ever been to, and is my favorite city! I love san fran

It would almost be a crime to not participate when such an event is happening "in my own backyard". I'll likely participate in about half the weekend and sign up to give rides to out of towners.

For the class i took, we had to buy a developing tank. I still have it somewhere. We had to buy the chemicals too, ick.
I didn't think about other local places, hmm, i may have to check into some of those.

Used to have a whole slew of Minolta 35mm. On a whim I bought a Canon 35mm, and have stayed with Canon ever since! Great cameras...even the little Elphs take some fantastic photos!
One day when I am finished with school, I hope to upgrade to some of the great setups you guys have, until then this camera I'm sure will serve me very well!

no problem! also, look at BHphoto's website, or google other photo websites, because you can ususally find pretty good prices on chemicals. good luck with the photo lab search. im sure you will be able to find a local lab to use for a good price.
