New to the mini scene

Hey guys,

My name is Mike and I recently got a 2002 Mini Cooper S. I got this car after selling my Audi S4. The reason I'm posting here is because there was a great Audi group/following in the area and was wondering what it's like with the Mini's around here.

Thanks a lot, hope to meet some of you
Mike

Hi Mike!

Welcome aboard! The MINI's also have a great following in the Milwaukee area as well. We do have events/drives periodically. If you check our website: http://www.milwaukeeminis.com you will see some upcoming events, including our Spring Drive in April. Also, you can check out the Chicago MINI club, which also has a forum here on NAM as well as a website: http://www.chicagominiclub.com. They have some great events as well, if you are willing to put on the extra miles (and who isn't when driving a MINI!!! ). We also sometimes do some joint events with them like the upcoming Spring Drive. There is also a Madison club as well:http://madcitymini.org/motoring/ .

So you do have some options, and let me assure you that the people who attend these events are great! I look forward to meeting you as well at one of our future events!

Welcome again!!

-Tom

Hey Mike,
Hope to see you at a MINI event or two. the Milwaukee club, Chicago club and Madcity club usually have some nice events. The drives are exciting, the people are great and the cars are well.... MINIs so you can not go wrong.
All you need is some free time to have a great time with the various clubs.
Free up and enjoy!

Hi Mike,

You went from an Audi S4 to a cooper? How much of difference was that? The s4's have a lot more power then the coopers do. As for events, there are a good amount of events in Milwaukee and Madison. I'm probably going to the event on June 19th in sussex if interested.

Yeah the S4 had better acceleration and overall was very nice car, but b5 S4's are very unreliable. When you pair that reliability with parts that are VERY expensive as well it gets hard to own the car. So, I got the MINI because it's fun little car that won't cost me much to maintain and do a couple mods.

I have also though about going to the event in Sussex, just hoping that I don't have to go in to work that day!
