MTTS 2010 Pics and Comments
This event was a lot of fun! Patrick and his pepper white Justa had to work, so I bought my 19 yr old son Zach with me on the trip. We had a good time! It was fun running into Harold on the way and Theresa in Denver! Mini should have taken a shot of Harold in his tee shirt! 390,000 miles on his Mini now I believe?
They took a shot of Mini's and their owners in Kansas City and Zach and I ended up on the screens at the Denver garage party and up on the big screen Sat night at the concert!
I put MTTS pics up on flickr:

If you run into any pics where I look gross please tell me.
These are unedited, I just snapped pics and uploaded.
The only things I guess that really disappointed me about the event:
1) There were no where near as many vendors as I'd hoped
2) Even though it said on the registration page when I signed up, that if you got 5 pins on the way you would get a free tee shirt in Denver (really the only reason I hit _every_ city on the midwest route). When we got to Denver MTTS staff were claiming it was just an internet rumour and there was never a promise of a tee shirt for 5 pins. They had us fill out paperwork and they would supposedly mail us tee-shirts. The girl at the table claimed she knew the guy that wrote the web site and it was never on there. Well I said, then he lied. Because I didn't hear about this online or in a forum or from anyone else. It was right there in the sign up info when I signed up for MTTS on May 25th. :( Wasn't cool to have Mini MTTS staff there calling their registrants liars or whatever. I hope Mini really makes good on this.
I did get to meet Diane Anton, she took our pic with my Rally Edition in Kansas City, according to the Meet the Team printout, she's Executive & Internal Communications. After that, when I was about to drive away, up walked Steve Saward, Manager, Sales, to rave about my Rally Edition with me because he has one too. lol It was a lot of fun until that bit in Denver about the pins and tee shirts. I guess from now on I won't count on their honesty but I'll screen capture every page of every sign up form and information page online that they present for an event so later on they can't call me a liar. :(

Wow! A friend found this for me in google's cache...I am NOT insane and Mini USA owes us all a great big apology.

We are the regulars of the MINI USA OL and were really hoping to have met up with Harold at some point during MITM/MTTS. Some were so concerned that they called his family to make sure everything was alright. I know he is still capable way into his 80's but he told us of his plans on being there. Also, we still don't know why MINI USA doesn't use him because he is such a great ambassador for MINI.
P.S. I raced around UK's Silverstone circuit with Harold as my co-pilot in a Cooper D Clubman and he had the time of his life. (MITM/MTTS pics in my signature)

We ran into him at Dreyer & Reinbold Mini in Indy, then again in Kansas City at Baron (where he was shamelessly plugging the reliability of his Mini with his updated T-shirt
). Then again out on the road at a McDonalds between Dodge City and Denver. He was telling us about the UK trip!! Sounded like fun!

we still have to put our pictures and stories from MTTS, but it looks like you had fun!
I also got the same answer regarding the free t-shirt.. they said, "oh that's just a rumor"
