Alternative Service Options?

I've been very happy with the dealer servicing my Cooper S since I took delivery in October of 2002.

Presently I have 102,600+ miles on it though, and faced with the prospect of installing a new clutch "sometime" soon, they put the $$ near $2,100 for a new one ... IF the flywheel can be re-used.

While there's still time I'd like to look into:

1.) are there any reputable private shops in the Chicago area (I live out in the north Fox Valley near Crystal lake but work downtown) capable of installing an aftermarket clutch and maybe flywheel, and

2.) what components are suitable for enthusiastic street use?

Post recommendations or other comments here or e-mail me thru the link above please!
