When: Next Sunday the 26th of January at 8:00 am

Where: The Highland House (located in Highland Park at the northeast side of Route 22 and Route 41). There is an entrance heading north on 41 or you can exit at 22 and enter through the Mobil gas station. You will need to exit 41 at 22 and make a left (north) if you are heading southbound. Let's plan on meeting in the northern parking lot (closest to the Acura dealer).

The address is:
2635 Skokie Valley Rd,
Highland Park, IL 60035

Who: Anyone is welcome to join us. if you have a new MINI, a Classic Mini, or are patiently awaiting your MINI that is currently on some ship crossing the Atlantic.

The Plan: Meet early and take the long slow way up to Millies Pancake house in Delavan Wisconsin for b-fast. Most of the ride is quiet back roads and 2 lane highways, speeds from 35 to highway speeds. There are a few twisty bits and Hunt Club road has some horse fields.

The Map: http://www.bridger.us/mini/pictures/jan_drive.jpg (warning; this is a fairly large jpg - you may want to right click and save it to your desktop to view it)

The Details: Highland House is a good pace to meet as Sunday mornings usually brings bikes and north shore biker people. Needless to say their used to groups meeting there often (of course the owners would love more people to eat there, but lots of people just hang outside or order coffee to go).
Here is the info on Millie's...
Millie's Restaurant & Shopping Village
Cty. O & S. Shore Dr
Delavan, Wi
262-728-2434

If you want more information about the town of Delavan check out their website: http://www.cityofdelavan.org/

Things to Bring: FRS Radios, a full tank of gas, all your best Mini apparel, and a smile.

Check my website for all the latest info: http://www.bridger.us/mini/?Y=2003&M...nuaryMINIDrive

Yippee! Picking up my MINI (aka Agent Cooper) on Monday. The drive on the 26th will be our first MINI gathering.

Looking forward to meeting other MINI owners and, especially, those on MCO.

The last Chicagoland was incredible. I'm sure this one will be just as much fun. The people at the last one were immensely welcoming to all who showed. I'm just sorry I won't be able to make the drive up there this time from Indy. I really want to, but it's my wife's birthday and I have to study for the GMAT to take it on Monday. Plan another one soon and I'll try to make it.

PineappleMonkey.. You are more than welcome to join in with whatever car you have..

If you want to ride shotgun, I have an empty passenger seat or you can probably bum a ride with others.

Latest forcast doesn't look too good.
Time to see what performance runflats will do in the snow.
Still planning to be there unless....

This sounds like a good time! I have never been to the Highland house in a car on a Sunday. My R-1100 will not like staying home. Although the temp is a bit lower than it has been on my other trips up there.
I hope to see all of you on Sunday!

S.D.

This is what the National Weather Service says as of Wed. night:

Sunday. Mostly clear. High in the upper teens.

I've heard from a couple other sources that there may be some flurries "during the day" but other than that nothing substancial. I'm hoping that there won't even be that much.

Chicago Drive Update:

It looks like we'll have between 12-15 MINIs for Sundays drive and about 20 people. Also it looks as if the weather will be coroperating as well. The forcast for Sunday calls for Mostly Sunny skies with a balmy high of 18°F.

Hope to see all you Chicago folks there!

Gabe,

Thanks for a great sunday ride. I had an awesome time. It was wonderful to actually meet the people, and MINIS, that go with the screen names.
Hope to be in a future road event with you all and many other new MINI owners in the future.

Drive safe.
Motor on.

JEEVES.

Gabe and JEEVES,

We are all looking forward to some pics. Maybe during Superbowl halftime you'll time to post them?

Gabe,

Who is your Chicagoland MINI dealer of choice? I'm using Bill Jacobs in Naperville, must be a fondness for Naperville as I grew up in Lisle.

Ahhhh! I live right here, bouts...40 minutes from Delavan, I can't wait to get into a MCS round April-ish. We've been looking around at the various Mini dealers in the area, and I'm also interested in who's a reliable dealer, seems like any of the Illinois dealers might be a good choice. Hope to meet you guys soon as I get that licence, and Mini.

Ya..I'm spoiled

Gabe, thanks for a wonderful event. You and Steve did a very nice job keeping us together and you picked some great roads. The "roller coaster" just north of the state line was fantastic. I'll try to get some pics up as soon as possible.
