Need help: Chicagoland, need place to shave tire.
i found out today that my factory tires has a flat spot. i raised
the car and spun the wheels individually while visually checking for
flat spots and sure enough, its got a flat spot. i was hearing
rumblings while driving.
the tire pressure was either too low while parked at the dealer, or
someone locked the brakes before delivery. when i got home,
the tires were only about 23-24psi.
anyone know where i can get the tire shaved locally in Chicagoland?
i think i need to take off like at least 3mm of rubber to equal
this out (all 4 tires). is it better to just drive it normally until
it shaves its self off?
thanks,
ken

Hey there, Ken. I know very little about tire shaving, but I have used Nortown Automotive on North Avenue and the Kennedy for all of my wheel and tire stuff with great success. They are also a Tire Rack recommended install place, if that means anything to you.
If you do decide to call them, take note: they have TWO locations on North Avenue. One of them specializes in wheel/tire/suspension the other one in engine type stuff. The one that is further west (and hence would have a higher street number in the phone listings) is the one you want. Good luck!
