First Annual Michigan Mini Motor Club Cookout: Aug 23
Since the club's membership is growning and will continue to do so,
I've been thinking about the best way to organize our membership.
Since Michigan is such a large state, it makes sense to divide us
into regions. This way, we can still combine our resources, but we
can have representation from each region when it comes to event
planning, etc. One of our biggest challenges right now is our
members on the west side of the state- staying connect together. So
after much thought, I came up with the following proposal.
There will be three regions. The Detroit Metro Region, The Mid-
Michigan Region, and the Grand Rapids Region. The names are up for
suggest changes, but that's the general idea. Each region will be
responsible for their "local events/meets" but also be included under
the banner Michigan Mini Motor Club (MMMC) Monthly/Not so Monthly
Meets.
To make this work, there need to be someone from each region who
would like to be "Vice-President" of the Region. Office positions of
the MMMC will include President/Senior Vice-
President/Secretary/Treasurer. We need to see what interest there is
the various positions to determin if a vote is needed, or if it's
just more of an appointment.
If you are interested, we will be meeting, Saturday, August 23 at Kensington Park. This will be our first annual cookout so bring a dish to pass and be ready to have a great time. Even if you are not interested in
being an officer, (heck...even if you aren't from Michigan) plan to come on out to the First Annual MMMC Cookout.

something like this:
I'm bringing Brauts and buns and BBQ sauce, and some soda too.
Chad is bringing his macaroni salad? (I always get it wrong!)
Scott is bringning burgers and buns and stuff
Joann is bringing dessert
Theresa has 2 "summertime" desserts (btw, lots of dessert is good!)
Sid is hauling charcoal and utensils
Monica is bringing bottled water and watermelon (hydrating!)
Ryan-and-Amy are bringing lots of stuff
whew, I'm getting hungry!

I just called Kensington and registered our group at the Turtle Head area. There was no cost to this and does not prevent others from coming into that area, but it does let the office know where we are in case someone cannot find us. I asked the office if that area gets very busy and she said "usually not. It should be a good area for your group." Thank you for the good investigation work Monica!!
I've uploaded a map of the park into the Photos section and posted it in the MCO board. It would be nice to have a post on Mini2 and Roadfly. If anyone has an account on those sites, please post the directions & details for us.

Members are more than welcomed to invite whoever they want to the meet. Family, friends, the bulldog you saw running down the street, whoever.
We will meet at 2:00 PM, but everyone is more than welcomed to come early or arrive later. We will probably be there until dusk. For those interested, if we have enough people, we'll play softball and/or kickball at fields nearby our area - Turtle Head (see map).
WHAT TO BRING?
Mini (or not if you can't fit everyone inside)
Food
Beverage
Softball glove/bat/*****/bases(if interested)
Camera
Lawn Chairs
Blanket (to lay on)
See you all in a week!
