Depends on what youre eating... If its steak, I would say Ruths Chris or The Chop House. For just pure good food, i would say Spago, or Beaurivage. And for 5 course experiences, Earnas i where its at...

Never stayed there. Only saw the outside and got the rep from my friends... As long as the rooms are better looking than the outside...

Here are my Picks,
In SF Fleur de Lys for French quisine.
Alfreds Steak house for Chops & Steaks.
Gary Danko's for California cuisine.
The Elite Cafe for great Cajun, sorry MINI CHEF.
Squat & Gobble for hearty organic or vegetarian.

In LA, La Cachette for French Cuisine.
Cicada for Italian.
Dal Rae for Great Classic Fifties fare, Steak Diane, Bananas Foster.
The Water Grille for Seafood.

In New York, Restaurant Daniel for French.
I can't forget Frankie & Johnnie's Steak House
Porto Bello in the Village for Italian.
Sardi's in the Theatre District for classic Fifties.

In Seattle, The Dahlia lounge
Ettas's Seafood
